The wintertime ice rink, at Spruce Street Harbor Park, is being transformed into a summertime roller rink. But that’s not the only big change taking place.
DRWC president Tom Corcoran explains that Pier 68 South is located adjacent to the Walmart-Home Depot-Superfresh shopping complex in South Philadelphia.
Construction is set to begin on the pier park on the Delaware River at Washington Avenue Green.
The ribbon-cutting and inaugural bike ride showcased Philadelphia’s first separated on-road bicycle and pedestrian trail, running for about 1,400 feet from Spring Garden Street to Ellen Street.
“There’ll be more events this year than we ever had before,” says Tom Corcoran, president of the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation.
The Delaware River Waterfront has received a face-lift near the Ben Franklin Bridge with the opening of a new pier.
