Symphony in C
Sixty students who play string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments spent two intense weeks studying with professional musicians from Camden’s “Symphony in C.”
In its 10th year, the Symphony Summer Camp is an intense two-weeks for 6th through 12th grade musicians, providing daytime training in classical music and jazz, as well as performance opportunities.
The appreciative audience of schoolkids at the Scottish Rite Auditorium listened as the orchestra played Camille Saint-Saen’s “Carnival of the Animals,” with two pianos.
Dozens of South Jersey kids will get to show off what they did in summer camp by putting on a free concert this weekend in Camden.
Young musicians from all over South Jersey have gathered in Camden for an intensive two-week music camp, run by a one of the few professional training orchestras in the United States.
