With another winter blast expected to move through the Philadelphia region, hardware stores were busy Sunday with residents stocking up on rock salt and all the other items needed to get through the snow.
So far, the Philadelphia region has seen 14 snow falls this season. As a result, many counties and municipalities are having a tough time keeping rock salt stockpiled. But many local hardware stores are facing the same problem.
Just how desperate was the rock salt shortage last week?
According to police, Daron Stinson, 21, pointed a black pellet gun at victims and then posted the incidents on Instagram.
Customer after customer came looking for firewood, rock salt, and perhaps a little hope this storm won’t be as nasty as the last one.
With plenty of winter storms already under our belts and another one on the way Wednesday night, rock salt and other snow-melting chemicals are very hard to find anywhere in the Delaware Valley.
