Just a week after Dad Vail, it’s time for another day of rowing in Philadelphia.
Nearly 7,000 rowers are expected this weekend for the 44th “Head of the Schuylkill” Regatta. It’s the largest and one of the most diverse regattas that Philadelphia hosts.
Check out this year’s Stotesbury Cup, which brings more than 5,000 high school rowers from all over the U.S. to the banks of the Schuylkill.
The Cooper River will be dredged beginning next July and that means the rowing community is going to have to look for other venues for 2014.
Athletes are preparing to show off their talents along the Schuylkill, for the annual regatta, which attracts colleges from across the country.
