In February of 1986, nearly 30 years ago, KYW reported on the cooling tower cloud that rose over rural Limerick Township in Western Montgomery County.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. when an SUV and a car collided along Route 422 near Lewis Road.
It happened at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday on the 600 block of North Lewis Road.
The crash happened just before 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of W Ridge Pike and Neiffer Road in Limerick and involved a car and a minivan.
The Limerick plant near Philadelphia had four high-level and 110 low-level violations from 2000 to 2012,
The blaze broke out around 8:35 p.m. in a house on Trinley Road in Limerick.
