If Mayor John Linder gets his way, a 10% tax will be attached to concert tickets at Harrah’s and sporting events like Union soccer games at PPL Park. And a 20% tax would be added for paid parking.

Nutter Administration To Pennsylvania Lawmakers: Don’t Move 2nd Casino License Away From Philadelphia

Pennsylvania lawmakers openly wondered if the Southeastern Pennsylvania market was already saturated with Harrah’s, Sugarhouse, and Parx casinos. City commerce director Alan Greenberger said that may be, but putting the casino in a more rural location might not make sense.
