Earl Pettis scored 18 points and La Salle overcame a 10-point first-half deficit to edge Massachusetts 72-71 Saturday night, ruining the Minutemen’s 12-0 home record this season.
Earl Pettis scored 19 points and Ramon Galloway had 18 as La Salle built a 26-point halftime lead and coasted to an 82-75 victory over Massachusetts on Sunday.
La Salle bolted to a 13-0 lead and carried a 48-28 advantage into halftime.
Earl Pettis led four La Salle players in double figures with 15 points.
The La Salle Explorers will try to move above .500 tonight as they host Northeastern at Gola Arena.
The Explorers went 15-18 during the 2010-2011 campaign. Head coach Dr. John Giannini is looking forward to improving that ledger this season.
