Chip Kelly spoke about the character of his team, the comeback against the Detroit Lions in eight inches of snow and what the Eagles were faced against in Sunday’s memorable 34-20 victory during his day-after press conference at the NovaCare Complex.
Michael Vick was supposed to be the guy on the Eagles that was like a video game. Yesterday against the Lions, it was Chip Kelly, Nick Foles and the rest of the team that was playing like it was on an XBox.
You’ll likely never see another game like it. The Lions and Eagles played in a surprise snow storm on Sunday, and luckily for the Eagles and their fans, the win will keep the memory of the memorable conditions a positive one.
Credit Chip Kelly and his staff for committing to an offensive style that at times is not what they feel is most comfortable. Sticking to the power running game and letting the offensive line set the tone up front proved to be the best decision Kelly could have made. It helps to have one of the best running backs in the league, LeSean McCoy, blowing through the holes opened up in front of him.
It seemed like we all changed our opinion of the snowy Eagles game at the very same time.
For the second straight week the Philadelphia Eagles will be in mostly good health, but rookie safety Earl Wolff will once again be out of action. The young rising defensive player in the Eagles secondary will be sidelined for the second straight game with a knee injury.
I don’t ever like to see the Eagles lose. I hope they win every game they play from now until the end of time.
