Aisha Abdur-Rhaman, 15, was on the sidewalk in the area walking home from school at Delaware Valley Charter. She was shot in the back and died. The defense declined comment after the hearing.
The 15-year-old suspect, although not the shooter, is said to have had a “significant role” in the case.
The surrender came less than five hours after homicide detectives and SWAT teams began scouring the city for the suspect, searching his Nicetown home and other locations.
