City Planning Commission
Decades after most industries left Philadelphia, City Council plans to look at how unused land might coax them back.
That’s why in 2012 the city planning commission unanimously approved a “Master Plan for the Central Delaware.” A complete road map for transforming the area into a beautified economic hub including new parks, penthouses, attractions, trails and…an auto repair joint?
The new building at 22nd and Pennsylvania Avenue would include a 55,000 square foot grocery store and up to 350 apartments above.
City planners are working on a massive blueprint, called ‘The Philadelphia 2035 Comprehensive Plan’, to help everyone shape the future.
