A former Philadelphia homicide detective is facing charges after he allegedly interfered with a murder investigation involving his girlfriend.
Authorities arrested Thanh Nguyen, a Penndot contractor since 2009, and Robert Slamon, a state inspector whom prosecutors say was bribed by Nguyen to look the other way.
“My client vehemently denies these allegations, and he looks forward to clearing his good name,” said Brian McMonagle, attorney for Officer Thomas Liciardello.
Robert Kerns now faces aggravated indecent assault and simple assault charges.
