Slumping Flyers Fall To Ducks 5-4 In Shootout

Anaheim rebounded from Wayne Simmonds’ late goal for a 5-4 victory over the spiraling Flyers on Wednesday night.

The Flyers (0-2-2) lost their second straight game in a shootout and are winless through the first four games for only the fourth time in franchise history. They’re off to their worst start since they were 0-3-1 in 2008-09.

Vincent Lecavalier, Matt Read and Michael Raffl scored for the Flyers, and Mason stopped 23 shots, following his 33-save shutout against Detroit on Tuesday at Philadelphia. The Flyers are 3-6-2 in their last 11 games following a 7-1-0 stretch.
