Officials ID 82-Year-Old Woman Killed In Quakertown Residential Building Fire

BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) -- A two-alarm fire in Bucks County claims the life of an elderly woman and injures four other people on Thursday morning.

Officials identified Marcella Heitz, 82, of Quakertown as the woman found dead.

The deadly fire happened at the Bush House Hotel on Broad Street and Belmont Avenue in Quakertown. The Bush House is a residential building made up of apartments and single rooms.

Authorities say the fire broke out around 8:30 a.m. and eventually spread to all three floors of the building.

"We have had one fatality. About 100 people have been displaced currently. We're in the process of working with Red Cross and our county officials of getting them back into the building," said Quakertown Fire Battalion Chief Doug Wilhelm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but authorities believe it started in Heitz's room.

The four injured victims were treated at area hospitals.
