Crews To Take Down 600-Year-Old Tree In New Jersey
BASKING RIDGE, N.J. (CBS) -- A white oak tree that's watched over a New Jersey community for hundreds of years is coming down.
The 600-year-old tree at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian church in Somerset County was declared dead after it started showing rot -- and weakness over the last couple of years.

It is expected to take crews a few days to pull the tree down.
The church will keep the tree's stump and memorialize it with a plaque.
