PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A lot of people are waiting for 2016 to come to an end.
Hold on a second...literally.
Dear World, I Wasn't All Bad. Signed, 2016

Why you ask? Well, the extra second is needed to make up for time lost due to the Earth's slowing rotation.
This will mark the 27th time that a leap second since 1972.
