Eagles Studs And Duds: Week 15
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles never quit on Sunday.
And while there's no participation points given out in Philadelphia, it was certainly nice to see Carson Wentz orchestrate back-to-back scoring drives to give the Eagles a chance to win on the final play of the game.
Unfortunately, the two-point conversion went incomplete and the Eagles lost 27-26, their fifth straight loss.
Duds
3. Jalen Mills
Mills continues to wag his finger, and while he played well at times, he got beat by Steve Smith on a costly 34-yard touchdown to end the first half.
2. Connor Barwin
Barwin had just one tackle on the day and received a grade of just 39.0, per Pro Football Focus. Barwin has just 4.0 sacks this season.
1. Nelson Agholor
Not to pile on the second-year wide receiver, who has had a forgettable season to say the least, but Agholor caught just one ball for nine yards on four targets and was abysmal trying to return punts.
Studs
3. Carson Wentz
Statistically speaking Wentz was not good on Sunday (22-42, 170 yards, 1 INT). He had a terrible passer rating of 8.3 while under pressure, according to Pro Football Focus.
However, we measure quarterbacks with how they perform under pressure, and with his down 10 points Wentz orchestrated back-to-back scoring capped by a four-yard touchdown run to make it 27-26. The two-point try went incomplete and the Eagles lost, but Wentz gave them a chance.
2. Fletcher Cox
Cox earned a grade of 82.9 per PFF, recording a sack, a tackle for a loss, a QB hit, and a fumble recovery.
1. Ryan Mathews
Mathews rushed for 128 yards on 20 carries (6.4 yards/carry), scored a touchdown, and converted a two point conversion. His 128 rushing yards were his third most ever. He also caught his only target.
