Cyber Monday 2016 Goes Down As The Biggest Online Sales Day Ever

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to Adobe Systems Inc., Cyber Monday 2016 wrapped up as the biggest online sales day in history.

According to the company, Cyber Monday is on track to set the mark with $3.39 billion spent by online shoppers, trying to snag some deals. That represents a 10.2 percent increase from the previous year.

Adobe also released data for a number of product categories that contributed to the record-breaking sales total.

Electronics were a big category on Cyber Monday and mobile devices drove sales as the avenue that people used to make purchases and also as the result of the purchases. 53 percent of visits to retail websites on Cyber Monday were made on mobile devices and 35 percent of sales were for mobile devices.

The five top-selling electronics were the Sony Playstation 4, the Microsoft Xbox, Samsung 4K TV's, Apple iPads and Amazon Fire.
