NJ's Veronica Harwood Finishes Second On 'Catching Kelce'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It wasn't meant to be for Veronica Harwood.

The 25-year-old Eagles fan from Cape May County, who was discovered thanks to an Eagles tailgate Instagram photo, made it all the way to the final two contestants on E!'s Catching Kelce, where women competed for a chance to date Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

"I was pissed off. I was just mad. I was like, 'What the heck?!' And they way that it went down and him like building me up and telling me how great it would be to be with me, and then sending me back to Jersey," Harwood told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Friday, eight days after visiting the show live in-studio. "I was like, 'You are not nice!'

"I'm one of the few girls who just kind of put everything into it and had my heart on my line."

Harwood beat all 48 of the 49 other contestants and knew she finished in second place for about eight months, when the show was originally taped.

"It was hard," she said of keeping the secret. "Some people who knew I was on the show and not being able to my in the dating scene and out and about."

While ultimately she lost, Harwood still feels she gained valuable experience.

"Overall I felt great, especially coming from such a small town I really open my eyes and it may me feel live being out here," Harwood told CBSPhilly.com last month. "Seeing that there was so much more life out there, so it definitely gave me that encouragement to move and do what I need to do in life. You can't be afraid to take chances."

Eagles center Jason Kelce, and Travis' brother, was pushing for Harwood.

"Once he got down to that [final two], you gotta let the kid go with whatever he feels is right and wherever his heart is taking him," Jason said Friday on the 94WIP Morning Show. "You know I was pushing the Eagles fan. I did it right from the first episode."
