Wrong Text Turns Into Heartwarming Invite To Thanksgiving Dinner
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A young man got a text from "grandma" this week but it's not what either of them expected.
It all started with a group invite to Thanksgiving dinner.
"Thanksgiving dinner is at my house on Nov. 24 at 3:00 p.m. Let me know if you're coming. Hope to see you all. Of course that includes Amanda & Justin."
One of the recipients, identified by Buzzfeed as 17-year-old Jamal Hinton responded, asking who is this?
The response: "Your grandma."
Not convinced, Hinton asked the sender for a picture.
After exchanging selfies, it became clear the sender, identified as "Grandma Wanda," was not Hinton's real grandmom after all.
But that didn't stop the teen from asking if the invite was still on the table.
"You not my grandma. Can I still get a plate tho?"
"Of course you can. That's what grandmas do... feed every one."
The hilarious and heartwarming conversation has gone viral since Hinton tweeted the exchange. Thousands of Twitter users are holding their breath to see if Hinton really does take his new grandma up on the dinner offer.
