Residents Initiate Citizen's Arrest On Man Allegedly Tormenting Town With Loud Air Horn

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (CBS) -- A suspect police say has been tormenting a Southern California town with a loud air horn has been stopped by residents who initiated a citizen's arrest on the man.

El Segundo officers say they heard an "extremely loud" air horn, similar to the sound of a train horn around 4 a.m. Sunday on the west side of town. According to officials, similar incidents had been reported in recent weeks involving a blue four-door compact vehicle driven by a white male adult.

After hearing the noise, officers conducted a traffic stop on a blue 2006 Chevrolet Aveo being driven by John Nuggent. Authorities say air horn equipment was found inside the car.
