Man, His Mother Face Charges After Little Girl's Alleged Abduction In Virginia

MONROE Twp., N.J. (CBS) -- Dylan Richardson ignored our questions as Gloucester County sheriffs deputies picked him up from the Monroe Township Police Department. Richardson is accused of abducting his daughter, Annabelle, 4, last week from southern Virginia.

Investigators in Charlotte County say he did not have full parental rights, and fled before he was scheduled to submit to a drug test. WDBJ-TV reports a restraining order had been sworn out against Richardson, prohibiting him from having custody with his daughter.

An amber alert was issued Monday after it was believed Richardson had access to weapons. Police said it was believed he was headed to New Jersey, where he grew up and where he still has family.

Richardson surrendered early Tuesday in Monroe Township without incident.

"He brought Annabelle into headquarters at the encouragement of another person who had seen the Amber Alert on television," Chief John McKeown said.

Richardson's mother, Jacqueline McKenna of Glassboro, is also in trouble. She is accused of driving Dylan and Annabelle from Southern Virginia to her home in Glassboro.

Richardson, this weekend, took to Facebook to try and curb rumors about he and his daughter, telling people to get off his case and what he was doing was in the best interest of his daughter. Police say Annabelle is with other family and is doing well.

Gloucester County court officials tell CBS3 it is likely an extradition hearing will be held Friday for both Richardson and McKenna.
