Homes Evacuated After Plumber Hits Gas Line In Haddonfield

HADDONFIELD, N.J. (CBS) -- Several homes in New Jersey were evacuated on Tuesday night after a worker struck a gas line, according to Camden County officials.

Just after 5:00 p.m., emergency crews were called out to the 300 block of Carriage House Lane in Haddonfield. Officials say that a Roto Rooter plumber struck a gas line in the area.

PSE&G was on the scene assessing the extent of the break.

Homes were evacuated, but it was not immediately clear how many, or how long it will take to repair the break.
