Police: Woman Arrested For Setting Fire To West Philly Home

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police have arrested a woman who is believed to have intentionally set a house on fire in West Philadelphia.

Flames broke out around 10 a.m. Saturday at a home along the 4900 block of Girard Avenue.

Fire crews were able to bring the blaze under control and there were no injuries to any residents.

Authorities say when responding officers arrived on scene witnesses pointed out a woman as the person who set the fire.

She was taken into custody and then transported to the hospital where he was treated for burns to her hands.

The suspect was not initially identified.

There was no immediate word on charges.
