Police Search For Driver In Delaware County Hit-And-Run

MEDIA, Pa. (CBS) -- Police are searching for the driver of an SUV who struck a pedestrian in Delaware County and then kept going.

It happened around 9 p.m. Thursday along the 1300 block of W. Baltimore Pike (RT 1 Northbound), just north of Pennsylvania State Police Media Barracks in Middletown Township.

Authorities say a the vehicle was traveling in the left lane when the driver struck a 34-year-old man and then fled the scene.

The victim was rushed to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in critical condition, but officials said he was expected to survive.

The striking vehicle is described as a 2000-2004 Ford Explorer with silver paint and dark gray trim. Investigators say the SUV should have damage to the front driver side, including damage to the front driver side turn signal lens cover.
