PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A man has been arrested and charged with slashing more than a dozen vehicles in Center City.

Police say 16 cars were vandalized Friday night around the City Hall area, including five city-owned vehicles.

Authorities say it was just before midnight when two Philadelphia police officers on night patrol saw someone standing next to a city-owned SUV, slicing two tires with a knife.

Authorities arrested a 28-year-old man.

Vehicles along Broad, Arch, and 12th Streets and JFK Boulevard were all vandalized.
