Trolley Carrying Passengers Overturns South Of Dewey Beach, Delaware

DELAWARE (CBS) -- Delaware police are investigating a trolley crash South of Dewey Beach, Delaware. According to state police, the trolley was carrying passengers when the vehicle overturned.

Authorities say the crash happened on Saturday around 4:41 P.M on Coastal Highway southbound, just south of Dewey Beach.

Authorities say 22 passengers were on board, who were all part of a wedding party.

At least 12 people were transported by Sussex County EMS to nearby hospitals where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The operator of that van was uninjured.

SR1 northbound and southbound has been closed and commuters are encouraged to find alternate routes of travel.
