Phillies Fan Who Caught Howard HR Ball Returns It, Meets Him

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Ryan Howard is winding down his career in Philadelphia, but certainly not disappointing fans who went to the ballpark to watch his final few at bats in red pin stripes. And one lucky fan caught the special ball that Howard slammed.

It could be Ryan Howard's last blast as a member of the Phillies.

27-year-old John Markocki of Port Richmond was sitting in the right outfield seats when he caught the home run ball.

"They asked me if I wanted the ball signed and I said absolutely, so we went to the box office and they said that Ryan wanted the ball and in exchange I would be able to present him with the ball at the end of the game," he said. "He would give me another autographed ball and bat in place of that and I figured he would want the ball more than I do."

It's not the first time Markocki caught the ball off of the bat of a Phillies first baseman, he has a souvenir ball from Jim Thome who coincidentally was replaced by Howard.
