Attorney General Spokesman: Porn Email Report 'Unreliable'

HARRISBURG (CBS) -- A report into offensive emails among prosecutors and judges won't be released for a few weeks yet, but a spokesman for the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office is already lowering expectations, declaring the report "disappointing."

Chuck Ardo, spokesman for Attorney General Bruce Beemer, said former AG Kathleen Kane hired a former Maryland Attorney General to examine thousands of emails.

"To find either ex parte or inappropriate communications between the Attorney General's Office and the judicial branch. The report we got doesn't approach to answer that question."

Ardo said a big problem has to do with using certain keywords to identify emails that may be inappropriate. Ardo deems the report, which has so far cost almost $400,000, as 'unreliable.' He said, however, that the attorney general's office is conducting another review to be absolutely sure there is no smoking gun in those emails, and that's why it will likely be a few more weeks before the report is released to the public.
