Boy With Autism Flooded With Cards After Writing He Has No Friends On HW Assignment

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Here's a happy update on a boy from New Jersey with autism.

His homework assignment went viral on social media.

Christopher filled out his assignment, listing his favorite foods and colors, but when he was supposed to list his friends, he wrote "no one."

His father saw it and posted it to Facebook, where it was shared thousands of times.

Now, people from around the world are showering Christopher with cards and gifts.

His father, Bob Cornelius says, "It's overwhelming. The number of cards… we're going to answer all of them. It's going to take months, but for him I'm really happy. He's going to know how loved he is."

Cornelius hopes long after the letters stop coming in the message behind his Facebook post goes on.
