4 Phillies Fans Up For MLB Fan Of The Year Consideration

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Four Phillies fans are being considered for the Major League Baseball Fan of the Year.

The nominees are:

  • Riley Marciante from South Philadelphia: The 4-year-old Marciante is often shy, but his love for the Phillies shines when he becomes the Mini Phanatic at Citizens Bank Park.
  • Brian Kucharik from Boothwyn, Pa: Kucharik is a lifelong Phillies fan who made a fantastic one-handed catch with his young daughter on his lap during a June game.
  • Laynee Shiann from Pitman, New Jersey: The Phillie Phanatic is tough to outshine as a dancer, but Shiann -- who is battling childhood cancer -- had the moves to top him.
  • Dan Mote from Newtown, Pa: Mote is part of "Ruppies Puppies," a group bound together by its support of Phillies catcher Cameron Rupp and love for dogs.
