PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are investigating a murder which was uncovered after an apartment fire in Germantown.
On Monday, shortly after 9 a.m., police were called to the fire scene in the 500 block of East Church Lane. On arrival, fire personnel said they had extinguished a fire inside an apartment and found the body of a man in advanced stages of decomposition.
An autopsy was subsequently performed by the Medical Examiner and cause of death was found to be numerous stab wounds.
The victim has been identified as 64-year-old Robert Lynch who lived in that block.
Police say an argument apparently led to the murder, but the suspect is still unknown.
