Brandon Graham: Wentz 'Poses So Many Different Other Threats' Than Bradford

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- You would think, veteran Eagles' players would be disappointed to hear that Sam Bradford was traded to the Minnesota Vikings.

But for seventh-year defensive lineman Brandon Graham, that wasn't the case. In fact, it was quite the opposite.

"For me, I don't have a problem [with the trade]. My reaction was, 'Let's go.' I know what he's gonna do," Graham told the 94WIP Morning Show of rookie quarterback Carson Wentz. "[Wentz is] gonna pose so many different other threats than Sam would have if he was back there and ya'll will see Sunday."

"I just knew it was going to happen during the year, but when it happened that fast -- I knew from looking at Carson, Carson makes quick decisions," Graham said of the trade. "If you didn't tell from the first preseason game when you seen him come in. I mean he's a guy who's confident. He's gonna make mistakes, but I really think he's ready for the job. I really think that was a great move by Philly, by getting some worth from Sam and helping their team by sending him over."

Wentz is going from the Division 1 North Dakota State Bison straight into the NFL, an extremely tough transition. Graham says the defense will help Wentz make that transition.

"As the season go, the defense will be who we always be," Graham said. "That don't change what we do as a defense. And we've gotta make sure we put him in great situations, as far as field position. Making sure we get off the field on third down. Making sure we do our part and make it a lot easier for him. And then of course, our running game is what we're gonna rely on too. And I really think with our offensive line, healthy offensive line, I think we can get the job done. Especially, because Lane [Johnson] is coming back too."
