Trump To Stop In Phila. In Attempt To Gain African-American Voters' Support

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump makes a campaign stop in Philadelphia today.

Donald Trump will be meeting with members of the African-American community at The View banquet hall on North Broad Street at 2 o'clock.

Several groups of protesters also have plans to gather outside.

Over the past couple of weeks, he's tried to appeal to African-American voters by saying decades of loyalty to Democrats have failed them.

"What do you have to lose by trying something new, like Trump?"

Trump has been trailing Hillary Clinton consistently in national polls, but a new Rasmussen Poll gives Trump a one point advantage, 40 to 39 over Clinton in a survey of 1,000 likely voters.
