Philadelphia Soul Celebrates Championship With Rally At City Hall

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Soul, fresh off an Arena Bowl Championship, celebrated with their fans in Center City on Wednesday.

A confetti shower fell on fans in the steamy courtyard at City Hall.

"We always said we're going to win, and we're going to win championships, and we've delivered that," said Ron Jaworski, former Eagles quarterback and part owner of the Soul. "I couldn't be more proud of these guys."

The team has won the Foster Trophy twice in its 11 year history. Jaworski says more are coming and he hopes more fans are there to experience the glory.

"Now that we've delivered another championship," he said, "we're getting more traction as a team that the fans want to go see."

One of the diehard fans in attendance was Mark from Malaga, New Jersey, who thinks too many people are dismissing the Soul's accomplishments on social media.

"Why do they have to be negative about this? Anyone that wins something for a city or a town, should be happy for them," he said. "Regardless if it's their cup of tea or not."
