Second Suspect In Custody In Connection With Robbery Of Asian-Owned Businesses

PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) — Police say the second suspect being sought in a string of robberies in Philadelphia targeting Asian-owned businesses is in custody.

A police spokesman says 33-year-old Anthony Campbell turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday, August 16.

Twenty-nine-year-old Norman Bowen was arrested earlier and was charged Tuesday with criminal conspiracy, robbery, theft, burglary and other counts in connection with 11 robberies between May 3 and Aug. 1.

Officials announced that Campbell was charged with criminal conspiracy, burglary, criminal trespass, theft, robbery and other related charges.

Police allege that Bowen and Campbell targeted closed businesses attached to the owners' residences, stealing cigarettes, jewelry, money and electronics while holding the victims at gunpoint. Investigators have said there may be other suspects involved as well.
