Chase Utley Receives Raucous Applause In Return To Citizens Bank Park, Including Grand Slam

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Welcome home Chase Utley.

One of the biggest fan favorites in the history of the organization is back in town to face his former team for the first time in his career. Utley is the visitor for the first time at Citizens Bank Park as the Dodgers travel east to play the Phillies.

Chase Utley On Return To Philly: 'A Bit Emotional'

Utley led off the game on Tuesday night and the fans let him know just how appreciative they are for his time spent in Philadelphia.

Dan Baker, the Phillies announcer introduced Utley to the crowd as his signature walk-up song, "Kashmir," played in the background.

The fans in attendance erupted for the World Series champion who defined grit and toughness, qualities many identify with the city, when he played for the Phillies. Not only did the fans stop and cheer for Utley. So too did his Dodgers teammates as well as the Phillies.

Ryan Howard, with glove removed, stood at first base and cheered for his former teammate.

Utley tipped his helmet to the crowd before standing in to face Vincent Velasquez.

In the fifth inning, Utley hit a homerun and once again received a chorus of cheers from the crowd.

He followed that up with a 7th inning grand slam:

Earlier in the day, Utley addressed the media to talk about his emotional return to Philadelphia.
