Several Killed During Violent Weekend In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Three people were killed in separate shootings on the streets of Philadelphia over the past two days.

Philadelphia police say around 11 p.m. Friday in the Mantua section of the city, a 25-year old man was shot multiple times on North 38th Street near Brandywine Street. He was pronounced dead early Saturday morning.

A 50-year-old woman was also shot nearby. She was treated and released with a gunshot wound to her calf. No arrests have been made.

In South Philadelphia just before 3 a.m. Saturday, police say a 23-year-old man was shot in the chest at South 24th Street and Passyunk Avenue. He was found in the front seat of a truck in a shopping center parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the hospital a few hours later. Police have made an arrest in that incident.

And officials say a 26-year -old man was shot three times in the 3100 block of Sheridan Street in the Fairhill section of city Saturday. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital just before noon. No arrests have been made in that case.
