Jerry Springer Offers 'Final Thought' On DNC Unity
By Mike DeNardo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Senator Bernie Sanders urged his supporters to rally around Hillary Clinton for president.
One high-profile political watcher spoke about whether that was possible.
Talk show host and former Cincinnati Mayor Jerry Springer is at the DNC as a guest of the Ohio delegation.
He says Bernie Sanders needs to remind his supporters that they'll get closer to what they want with Clinton as president.
"His appointments to the Supreme Court for the next 20 years. Certainly Bernie supporters can't be in favor of that. His views on race. His views on Hispanics, African-Americans, Muslims. That is not the kind of America the Sanders people want," said Springer.
He says there may be some disagreement, but Sanders supporters got part of what they wanted, in moving the party platform to the left.
