Attendees Of DNC Treated To Welcoming Party

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Attendees of the Democratic National Convention were treated to a Taste of Philadelphia Party featuring iconic foods of the city and entertainment.

South Philadelphia's own Bobby Rydell got the crowd dancing.

Congressman Bob Brady welcomed everyone to his town. Leader of the House Democrats Nancy Pelosi was among those joining him on stage.

When the politicians got off stage the next act The Duprees were delayed getting on because of the tight security around the politicians.

Attendees snacked on cheesesteaks, hoagies, soft pretzels and other Philly fare.

Among them was Norma McCuen a delegate from Allegheny County. The 71-year-old is looking forward to being on the convention floor, and to the concert later where Lady Gaga is performing.

"And at my age I admire her and I love her, and all of my neighbors think I'm crazy because an old lady is not supposed to love Lady Gaga but I do."

Also enjoying the party was Pennsylvania delegate 87-year-old Angie Gialloreto. This is her 10th DNC.
