Report: 76ers To Sign Cat Barber

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- March 21st, 2015.

The Villanova Wildcats, a No. 1 seed in the East Region, were upset by No. 8 seed NC State in the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament. NC State was led by their 6'2" lightning quick guard Anthony "Cat" Barber.

Over one year later, the Villanova Wildcats are the defending 2016 NCAA Champions and Barber will reportedly be coming to Philadelphia to join the Sixers.

Barber, who is from Newport News, Virginia, broke out last season as a junior averaging 23.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game for the Wolfpack. His 23.5 points per game led the ACC and was the seventh most in the country.

Barber, 21, joins Sixers guards T.J. McConnell, Jerryd Bayless and Sergio Rodriguez in camp, while Kendall Marshall has a team option for the 2016-17 season.
