Pennsylvania Delegates Host Sendoff Before Heading To Cleveland For RNC

EXTON, Pa. (CBS) -- Republican delegates from the Philadelphia area rallied Sunday morning before boarding a bus and heading to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

About two dozen delegates from the Philadelphia region got on a bus in Exton, Chester County for the seven hour journey to Cleveland.

They are just a few of the 50,000 people who are expected to attend convention festivities that kick off on Monday. The main topics of discussion will include security, immigration and the economy. The goal, of course, is for the GOP delegates from all 50 states to nominate Donald Trump, who recently announced Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate.

During the Pennsylvania Primary, Trump won 57% of the Republican vote.

Fifty-four of Pennsylvania Republican delegates are unbound, but most say they will still vote Trump.

"I think Donald Trump has a background to create one of the solutions to the problem, and that's jobs," said Calvin Tucker, a supporter of Trump.

Delegate Joan Miller of Havertown says she's hopeful the entire party will unify at the convention.

"It's all going to come together once he selects his cabinet," she said, "and everybody really hears what he has to say."

Most of the delegates said they were excited to hear from top party leaders like Newt Gingrich and House Speaker Paul Ryan. But the most highly anticipated speakers are Mike Pence and, of course, the man himself, Donald Trump.
