Soul Look To Stay Sharp Saturday Against Tampa

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Soul will play their penultimate game of the regular season on Saturday afternoon as they head down to Tampa to match-up with the Storm.

Philadelphia is coming off one of its more impressive performances of the 2016 season as they rolled the Cleveland Gladiators up in Allentown, 83-62, to improve to 11-3. A lot of players stepped up for the Soul in this one, but no one more so than quarterback Dan Raudabaugh. He was a remarkable 20 of 21 throwing the football for 331 yards and eight touchdowns.

"Dan was as good as I've ever seen him," Soul head coach Clint Dolezel tells KYW Newsradio. "Only having one incompletion, and that ball probably could've been caught, so hats off to him. That was a great ball game by him."

Raudabaugh's final pass of the game was a 26-yard touchdown pass to Darius Reynolds. It was the 600th scoring strike of his AFL career. Dolezel says it won't be his last milestone.

"He's only going to get better," Dolezel says. "He's only going to get sharper. As long as he stays hungry, which he will, he loves this game, he's going to hit some super milestones."

Tampa Bay will bring a record of 1-12 into Saturday's match-up. But the one was an impressive one as the Storm's lone win came against an outstanding Arizona team.

"That's been our battle cry all week long for the players," Dolezel says. "'Yeah, they only have one win but its against the elite team for the last six years in Arena Football.'"

Tampa Bay has struggled to score throughout the season and Dolezel talks about a key for his defense in this one.

"Putting pressure on the quarterback," Dolezel says. "They really haven't protected well all year long. We're hoping to keep that trend going. We've got our full pass rush back. We got three sacks this past game and put a lot of pressure on them besides that, too. So that's very important, to get after the quarterback."

Philadelphia and Tampa Bay will get underway at 3:30 on Saturday afternoon
