Report: Sixers Sign Episcopal Academy Star Gerald Henderson Jr.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia 76ers have signed guard Gerald Henderson Jr. to a two-year deal worth $18 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical. 

Henderson, 28, was a star at Episcopal Academy in Merion, Pennsylvania before playing four years at Duke. Henderson, a 6'5", 215-pound guard, was the 12th overall pick of the Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets) in 2009.

The Caldwell, New Jersey native's father, Gerald Henderson Sr., played in the NBA from 1979-1992 including a short stint with the Sixers.

Henderson spent last season with the Portland Trail Blazers, after spending his first six NBA seasons with Charlotte. For his career, Henderson averages 11.5 points, 1.9 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting 44.2/31.9/79.1 percent from the field, three point range, and foul line.

Last season, Henderson shot a career high 35.3-percent from three-point range on 1.9 attempts per game.
