Police Investigate 2 Attempted Abductions In Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – Newark Police are investigating two attempted abductions just a few hours apart.
Authorities say around 11:20 p.m. on July 3, a woman was unloading items from her vehicle at Colonial Gardens on the 300 block of East Main Street.
Police say when she was about to exit her building to make another trip to her car, a male grabbed her from behind and attempted to put a rag with an unknown chemical around her mouth.
Authorities say the victim fought him off and the suspect fled the scene on foot.

July 4, 2016 - The Newark Police are investigating two attempted abductions. On July 3rd at approximately 11:20pm, victim #1 was unloading several items from her vehicle at Colonial Gardens (334 East Main Street). While about to exit her building to make another trip to her car, a white male suspect entered her building, grabbed the victim from behind and attempted to put a rag with an unknown chemical around the victim's mouth. The suspect attempted to force the victim outside but was unsuccessful - the victim fought the suspect off and the suspect fled by foot away from the area.
On July 4th at approximately 3:33AM, victim #2 was exiting her vehicle at Main Towers (330 East Main Street) when she was attacked from behind. The suspect grabbed the victim's neck and mouth and attempted to push her into the vehicle. The victim fought off the suspect, and the suspect fled on foot.
Victim #1 is a female University of Delaware student, 28 years of age.
Victim #2 is female, 61 years of age.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his early 20s, approximately 5'6" to 5'7" tall with a thin build.
The victims declined medical attention.

Police say the suspect grabbed the victim's neck and mouth and tried to push her into the vehicle.
The victim fought off her attacker, police say, and the suspect fled.
The first victim is a 28-year-old University of Delaware student, police say.
The second victim is a 61-year-old female.
Authorities describe the suspect as a white male, in his early 20s, approximately 5'6" to 5'7" with a thin build.
