Philadelphia Jewish Community Remembers Elie Wiesel
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - "Shock, dismay, sadness."
That's how Stephen Rosenberg with the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia says he felt after hearing of Elie Wiesel's passing on Saturday.

"Really was overcome with grief. He was a phenomenal role model, leader in the community."
He says Jewish or non-Jewish, everyone needs to read Wiesel's book 'Night' so they can see how incredible his journey was.
"His struggles in the Holocaust, what he has overcome in life to become a Nobel Peace Prize winner, it's hard to describe words. The way he stood up for Holocaust survivors and their rights and the fight that he fought all those years is tremendous."
As horrific as the Holocaust was, Rosenberg says it must be remembered. He calls Wiesel a "champion" in that regard.
"Obviously we can't go back in time and change what happened, but making sure the people are not afraid to talk about it, are comfortable talking about it."
It's pretty clear, Rosenberg says, there won't ever be another Wiesel.
