A Sight To See: Phila. Gets Dressed Up For The DNC
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's a sign of things to come. You'll be seeing banners go up all around town carrying a welcome message for the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, next month.
Contractors on bucket trucks have begun hanging the first of 600 street banners, according to Host Committee spokesman Alex Styer. 
"Simple message: 'Welcome Democratic National Convention'. We're dressing up most of the main thorough fares in Philadelphia, covering Market Street, Walnut Street, Chestnut Street, JFK Boulevard, Broad Street, Eakins Oval, Logan Circle. It's very similar to what happened when the pope was here."
There are also other tell tale signs of the coming convention. It dresses up the city, like we see the red, white and blue bunting around town.
"This is the first of a bunch of different initiatives that they're going to be putting up."
Delegates will be seeing the sights and hitting the town when not on official business at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and the Wells Fargo Center during their Monday through Thursday stay in Philadelphia from July 25th to the 28th.
