Tim McGraw To Help Celebrate America At Jersey Shore

WILDWOOD, N.J. (CBS) - Can you think of a better way to spend Independence Day than with fireworks, beach and country music?

It's happening! The event is called 'Celebrate America' and it's coming to Wildwood.

Organizer Ray Sheehan calls it "the greatest Fourth of July celebration in America:"

"We have the 'Celebrate America' concert with Maggie Rose, Hunter Hayes and Tim McGraw, so it's going to be an amazing night, capped off with an epic fireworks display celebrating our independence."

He says they wanted to pick an artist that fit perfectly with the occasion:

"We thought what better music than country music, and when you pick country music there's no better superstar than Tim McGraw. That's how it all came about and here we go, Fourth of July, look out!"

Sheehan says while McGraw is the right choice to perform, Wildwood is the ideal location:

"We wanted to do something that was on the Jersey Shore, we wanted to do something outside, and the beaches in Wildwood really lend itself to an event of this magnitude. In addition to that, they were also going to have a Fourth of July celebration, so we thought it seems like the perfect spot."

Fourth of July, on the beach, country music, Tim McGraw, fireworks...it "just felt right" Sheehan says.

Gates open at noon and throughout the day, he says there will be plenty of activities:

"You will have a beer garden on the beach, there'll be different types of food vendors all day, then obviously you have the entertainment piece of live music throughout the whole day. There's a VIP portion, a general admission portion."

A common theme throughout the day, Sheehan says, supporting our troops:

"So there's a huge charity piece here supporting Operation First Response. There's something for everyone here."
