Promenade Helps Area High School Seniors Take Trip Down Memory Lane

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Graduating Cheltenham Township high school seniors, looking forward to their next journey, took a step into their past with great excitement, with their caps and gowns on.

After their last graduation practice, four bus loads of students took a trip down memory lane by visiting their K-4th school, then checking out the Elkins Park School, roaming the hallways and peeking into their 5th and 6th grade classrooms.

"It was really nice, because it was the epitome of like, coming full circle."

18-year-old Lucy Toledo went to Glenside Elementary, before going to Elkins Park.

"And just like, seeing all of your old teachers, some of whom cried, it was really nice."

Dr. Wagner Marseille, the Cheltenham Township Superintendent of Schools, says the event was held to celebrate the achievements of the 12th graders and to show the elementary-age students what's in store for them too.

"To have our kindergarteners, 1st graders, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th graders see this is what it all leads up to."

Lucy, who will be attending Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, savored their Elkins Park School Senior Walk promenade.

"I'm going to miss it a lot. I can't wait to come back and visit."
