Soul Welcome LA KISS To Trenton Saturday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Soul will visit the Garden State's capital on Saturday when they take on the LA KISS in Trenton, New Jersey.

The Soul improved to 8-2 last time out with an impressive 56-42 win down in Jacksonville over the Sharks. This was a big victory for the Soul, who bounced back from a loss to Cleveland the previous week and also got revenge for a loss to the Sharks in their first meeting this season back in Week #2.

"Felt really, really good," Soul head coach Clint Dolezel tells KYW Newsradio. "We knew it was going to be a tough game. That place they play, the 'Shark Pit,' tough to win in. Their fans are rowdy, they've got good, good fans there. And obviously they are very talented. Joe Hills has been a monster all year long, I think he's leading the league in everything for the most part as a receiver and we had a definite game plan against him, a different one. We executed well, we played hard, played well, had some breaks go our way."

Listen to the entire interview with Philadelphia Soul head coach Clint Dolezel:

Philadelphia is tied with Orlando for first place in the American Conference. Los Angeles is 4-5 and that is good for third-place in the National Conference. These two teams met in California back on May 2nd, the Soul winning easily, 56-33. Dolezel expects a tough match-up this time around.

"They can score, there is no doubt," Dolezel says. "They have three guys that can go downfield as receivers. Obviously Donovan Morgan, who was here with us, is their main threat, so we're going to have to control him. He's very similar to Joe Hills, so we can't let him outsize us. They've got a pretty good run game, good screen game, coach does a good job of calling plays and protecting their quarterback."

This is a home game for the Soul, but it is being played in Trenton at the Sun Center because the Wells Fargo Center is unavailable in preparation for the upcoming Democratic National Convention.

"It's right down the road for the most part," Dolezel says. "Travel won't be that big of a deal. The arena looked great (Thursday) when we were in it (for practice). The field laid down beautifully."

Philadelphia and the LA KISS kickoff at 3:00pm on Saturday.
