Police Warn Bensalem Residents Of Possible Scam Knocking At Their Door

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- Police in Bensalem, Bucks County are warning residents about a possible scam artist robbing homes in the area.

Authorities say a man driving a pick up truck with New Jersey plates is posing as a utility worker, and asking residents to leave their homes while he cuts trees on the property.

Police believe the man is using the excuse so he can then rob their homes. However, they say they have no reports of any robberies by this suspect yet.

They ask anyone who may have had a run in with this man to call 9-1-1 immediately, and remind residents that any legitimate utility worker will have proper credentials and is required to show them if asked.
